The Dark Revival: Vintage and Symbolic Jewelry

The Dark Revival: Vintage and Symbolic Jewelry

I personally adore symbolic jewelry—pieces that tell a story. Jewelry that pushes boundaries and celebrates the peculiar that is personal. Witchy jewelry with protective talismans or punk jewelry that symbolizes rebellion carry personal meaning that goes beyond aesthetics. I make Anomaly pieces with intention, making sure designs like rat hearts or bats resonate with those who wear them.

Victorian Jewelry is an era of jewelry that I adore. Spanning from the mid-19th century to the early 20th, it can be identified by its elaborate designs, often featuring real human hair, skulls, and symbolic elements like hearts, hands, and crosses. Each item tells a story, capturing both the personal and societal values of the time, from deep love and devotion to mourning and memorialization.

This pic shows two of my favorite vintage Victorian jewelry finds from flea markets I searched this summer.

As we move into 2025, fashion is embracing unusual jewelry that celebrates individuality. True lovers of alternative fashion are turning away from mass production, seeking handcrafted pieces that feel personal and meaningful.

My Collection, "The Darkness" is very much inspired by Victorian Era's Jewelry, it is rife with symbolic images and deeper meaning.
